You Know Your Kids are Keeping Up With Their Peers When. . .

. . . your kid is talking to an acquaintance (who is also in the 8th grade) about his Civil War era sword and his peer responds with, “What’s the Civil War?”

Jordan said to me later, “Mom, who doesn’t know about the Civil War?” {And it has been 3 years since we formally studied the Civil War!}

How else do I know that my kids are keeping up with their peers? I measure them.

This is a team of 4th, 5th and 6th graders. I think they measure up just fine. Girls seem to grow faster than boys at this age, so I am not worried at all about their height.  {grin}
